One Day Taster

Each September we hold at least one Taster Day. This is aimed at those who are not sure whether they are suited to beekeeping.

We present the fundamentals of what is involved with keeping bees along with the equipment needed. We conclude with a visit to out apiary, looking inside a hive and experiencing the wonderful world of bees.

Beginners

Intended for people who are looking to keep their own bees or have a keen interest in Beekeeping but want to find out more.

The course runs over 2 years after which you take away your own bees.

Year 1: Guided, weekly apiary sessions learning all about bees and beekeeping from our team of experienced beekeepers.

Year 2: Focuses on how to manage your own colony at one of our apiary sites with guidance on hand where necessary.

Advanced Beekeeping Summer Courses

For anyone looking for some unique summer beekeeping training, there are a number of cancellation places on the advanced beekeeping courses available here.

Study Groups

We hold study groups to assist you in passing the BBKA Basic Exam advanced offer informal gatherings to discuss ongoing seasonal management.

For specific learning we recommend that you consider the NDB excellent short courses.

Asian Hornets

Smaller than their European counsins, but these are bee killers and their presence in the UK should be reported.
